JAXON
What I thought were guns turned out to be stun guns.
The guys that had Bryce held up ran down the hall to the stairs and disappeared. Leaving Bryce on the floor wheezing and the security guards chasing after the fuckers that hurt him.
Two of the security followed and one stayed back to figure out if Bryce was okay.
He was out of breath and shaking but he looked okay to me as I helped him up.
“What the fuck is going on?” He looked up, seeing me like I was an angel.
“J...Oh my God.” He jumped up wrapping his arms around me. He was too close, just like last night, he was too close. I pushed him back a bit knowing he was just being emotional but shit like that only made my heart beat faster. Reminding me of days when me and Bryce were cool to be this close.
“Sir, what happened?” Another one of the security guards was back now.
“Those men, they came to my room and knocked on the door saying they were maintenance. When I opened up, they tried to rob me. Someone must have told them my room number.” Bryce was stomping his feet
“I saw the whole thing. I called you. He defended himself.” Some old woman said peeking out of her hotel room in a white robe.
“We are still trying to locate them in the building but we think they got away.” The guard was talking through a walkie-talkie and relaying messages to us.
“For how much I’m paying a night, there needs to be better security. I need to be moved to another room.” He was being theatrical. Putting his hand to his head as if he was going to pass out. He may have gained some muscle and grew a beard but this was still Bryce the drama queen. He could change some things but everything else about him would stay the same that was why I loved him. Or I used to love him. Shit...
“Boy, I’m glad you showed up.” He gave me a five pulling me in for a hug. “How did you know what room I was in?”
That was the problem, the lady at the desk gave me the information and probably the other guys too.
“I got it from the front desk.” I turned to security, “Your front desk agent may have given those people the information too.”
“You see, I could have died. I need a new room right fucking now.” Bryce was screaming and security tried calming him down while one made a call over the walkie-talkie for a room and help on the ninth floor. All I could do was laugh, it seemed like Bryce was always in some bullshit like this, who knew what he was into now.
“You were screaming down the hallway like a bitch.” We laughed but I had a million questions and an apology for him. I was about to part my lips and say a word when the bellman came rushing down the hallway with a steel cart.
